Easing Of Regional Victoria Restrictions September

On Wednesday 8th of September, the Victorian Premier announced the easing of restrictions for regional Victoria from 11:59pm Thursday 9th of September. This allows regional Victorians to travel again to regional locations including the Alpine Resorts.

Please check back to this page regularly regarding resort operations.

The business operators within the resort are currently working through what their operations will look like. Falls Creek Ski Lifts have confirmed that lift operations will re-commence on Friday 10th September. Keep an eye on the lift status page for all the details about which lifts will be open.

More details are to follow but at this stage we know:

MANDATORY COVID TESTING

Travel to regional Victorian Alpine Resorts is permitted provided visitors and workers living outside of the resort have had a negative COVID test result within 72 hours of arrival at the alpine resort. Children under 12 years not included.

Visitors must be able to show evidence of a negative test as a condition of entry into Falls Creek resort.

If you are getting a COVID test in order to visit Falls Creek and you are asymptomatic then you do not need to isolate while you wait for your test results. Remember to leave time for your test to be processed. Most test results are returned within 24 hours, but it can sometimes take up to 48 hours.

For those planning to visit the snow for a week (and not staying at a resort), that would mean getting tested every three days whilst in the Alpine region.

A checkpoint will be set up again to ensure all visitors entering the resort have a negative COVID test received within 72 hours upon arriving and have a valid resort entry permit or resort booking for season permit holders.

Please visit the Coronavirus Victoria website here to see the current testing locations.

ALPINE RESORT STAFF TESTING REQUIREMENTS

Workers are highly recommended to take a COVID test prior to arrival at the resorts.

Workers who live off the mountain must provide evidence from their employer stating their current employment otherwise, they will be subject to the mandatory COVID test requirement every 72 hours.

AUTHORISED WORKER PERMITS

Are no longer required for regional Victorians.

ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS

Open to regional Victorians only. Bookings are permitted for single households, intimate partners or single bubbles only.

FOOD & BEVERAGE VENUES

Open for seated service only with a maximum of 20 outdoors and 10 indoors subject to density limits. Venues must check the IDs of everyone they serve.

COMMUNITY GYM

Will remain closed to comply with the government directions.

RETAIL OUTLET

SKI LIFTS OPERATIONS

Falls Creek Ski Lifts will operate ski lifts on Friday 10th September. Please visit the Falls Creek Ski Lifts website for lift status updates at skifalls.com.au

To keep Victoria safe, remember that you shouldn't be travelling if you have COVID-19 symptoms. You must get tested and stay at home even if you have the mildest of symptoms. These measures are necessary to ensure we can all enjoy the snow season safely, protect local businesses and communities. We thank you for your cooperation.
