Artist in Residence Program
The Falls Creek Artist-In-Residence program provides an opportunity for artists, designers, academics and creative individuals or groups to take time away from their usual obligations and draw from the unique features of Victoria's pristine alpine environment.

Rebecca Jones
Melbourne-based, Rebecca Jones has been a full-time practicing artist since 2005. Her work reflects on the Australian landscape, light and colour.
Rebecca has studied in Australia and New York, and has held numerous residencies around Victoria. Rebecca also exhibits regularly and often conducts workshops about the use of new media in drawing practice.
David Rosendale
David is a sought after commercial and exhibiting photographer based in Melbourne who since 2015 has been working on a project focusing on beautifully graphic and minimal compositions found in the snow covered landscape of Falls Creek, titled "The Fall". Whilst in Falls Creek, David will document seasonal change and capture the graphic and harmonious relationship of both natural and man made elements in the alpine landscape.
Dr Mary Rosengren
Mary creates artwork with a focus on art/science technology and whilst in Resort, worked on an ongoing series of prints, artist books, installations, video and audio works called Re-imaging Nature. Mary's project is based on the observation and experience of vegetation in extreme environments and the work of ecologists that are researching them.
Dore Stockhausen
Dore is an abstract painter and jewellery maker who draws influence and inspiration from the natural and manmade environment. Whilst in residence Dore will be working on a series of paintings that focus on low light, long shadows, the dryness of the land and the intensity of the colours.
Kelly Gardiner
Kelly is a writer, editor and educator. Her latest book is 1917: Australia’s Great War, set on the Western Front and in Melbourne during the First World War.
While in Residence at Falls Creek, Kelly is working on a new book ‘The Adventures of the Bushranger Captain Lighting And That Other Girl’, a series of short stories paying tribute to the nineteenth century traditions of the amateur detective serial.
The stories will be set on the Goldfields and in the High Country of the colony of Victoria in the late 1850’s.
Vic McEwan
Vic is exploring the histories and stories of the Bogong Moth and its relevance to the Falls Creek region. Whilst in residence Vic developed landscape video projections and explored further project possibilities in digital storytelling. Vic's work is titled Specimen and is an ongoing project in partnership with the National Museum of Australia.
Hiroyasu Tsuri
Hiroyasu is a contemporary artist also known as TWOONE. Hiroyasu gained his interest in art and foundation of his creativity through the skateboarding and graffiti culture. Hiroyasu works with a wide range of materials and forms including painting, sculpture, installation and sound. Whilst in residence, Hiroyasu created a large scale public mural on Falls Creek's iconic 'brown settling tank' titled "Big Fella".
