North East residents are performing well above state average when it comes to making their recycling matter and keeping recyclable material and organics (like in Falls Creek Living Bin service) out of landfill.

Local Government Waste Services Report revealed the North East region is leading the state in diverting recyclable material from landfill.

It showed the combined efforts of residents in the North East had the highest kerbside diversion rate in Victoria at 57.4%, significantly better than the State average of 45%.
